Important AdSense policy update 2019 has been arrived. Simplifying our content policies for publishers. A good digital advertising ecosystems that operates for everyone is one of our top priorities: users, advertisers and publishers. Daily, Google teams, policy professionals and product managers are fighting against and stopping poor actors. Late last year, we removed from our ad network and the advertising of almost 28 million websites 734,000 publishers and app developers who were violating our policies.

We're writing to let you know about a change to Google's publisher policies for all of our publisher products that will affect your AdSense account.

We are starting adjustments to certain content guidelines for our publishing goods in September 2019 (AdSense, AdMob, and Ad Manager). While today there'll be no action since no publishers are affected right now, please make sure you read this e-mail to get acquainted with the things that are coming next month.

A simplified publisher experience In September, we’ll update the way our publisher content policies are presented with a clear outline of the types of content where advertising is not allowed or will be restricted.
Why we make those modifications:

One of the most important demands we hear from publishers is to make our strategies easier and more efficient. We know that many people use a range of our product manufacturers and we want to give you a clear and simple understanding of how our strategies communicate and how they influence you, regardless of what products you use.

Here’s what you can expect:

Google Publishing Policies describe the kinds of contents that we will not monetize with our publishers. These include: illegal content, children's sexual abuse, sexually-specific content, family-related adult subjects, abuse in intellectual property, endangered or threatened species, threatened or derogatory content, dishonest behavior, malicious or unwanted software and mail order brides.

Google Publisher Restrictions, which outline the types of content which will receive restricted sources of advertising. These include: Sexual Content, Shocking Content, Explosives, Guns, Gun Parts & Related Products, Other Weapons, Tobacco, Recreational Drugs, Alcohol Sales and Misuse, Online Gambling, Prescription Drugs, and Unapproved Pharmaceuticals and Supplements. Google Ads (formerly AdWords) will continue not to serve on any of this restricted content; it will only receive ads from other advertising products or via the use of direct deals between publishers and advertisers.

Alignment across our publisher products, bringing simplicity, consistency, and ease of understanding, regardless of the product(s) you choose to use.

What it means for you as an AdSense publisher:

Monetizing contents under Google Posting Restrictions does not constitute any longer infringement of policies but, on the basis of each publicity product and/or advertisers ' preferences, we shall limit advertising on those contents, as applicable. This will imply in some instances that your inventory is not bidding by publicity sources and that there are no advertisements on this limited material. While you may choose to monetize content under the Google Publisher restrictions, you are likely to be given less publicity than would other, non-restricted content on this limited content.

Content covered by the Google Publisher Policies may not be monetized and advertisements against that content should not be placed. As with our strategies of today, it can lead in your account being suspended or terminated in an attempt to monetize policy-breaking content.

Please note that these policies and restrictions will apply in addition to any other policies governing your use of Google publisher products.

What you need to do:

At this moment nothing. When this happens with a breakdown of policy and limits, the Help Center and Policy Center will be updated in September 2019. Please then check and guarantee your content is compliant with the updated policies and limitation

Please note that going forward, Google will be announcing updates to our policies and restrictions for AdSense on this change log. Publishers are required to keep abreast of changes to policies and be in compliance with them at all times.
